I attended Omar Martin’s webinar about a week and a half ago, the webinar that was billed, “The Most Important Webinar …” that they, he and his wife, ever gave. And that was the phraseology of everyone else who was promoting the webinar also used, John Thornhill, Dave Nicholson, and all of the others that I heard from.
I am probably on everyone’s mailing list. I’ve bought products from just about everybody under the sun, and I don’t know how to click “unsubscribe” unless I feel that I am really being harassed. I don’t want to miss anything important. And I also check the news ten times a day. Sound familiar?
Omar spoke about how for 18 months he woke up every morning and basically started over from scratch, letting the internet guide him instead of him guiding the internet. Going at it on his own, waiting to find that button that will make him rich.
I found Omar’s words very eye opening, as they described me too close for comfort. Except that whereas for him, he wasted 18 months until that one day that everything changed, for me it has been the past 10 years and more. And I wasn’t looking for that proverbial magical button, I was rather trying to develop my own income streams which would add up to be something big. But I never got passed xx-small, an income trickle which fizzled out by the time that I came along with the second stream, a scenario which repeated itself again and again.Omar also spoke about the need to treat one’s home internet business like the way real businesses do. For example, even though he is his only employee, still there has to be a department of customer relations, and a department of advertising and sales, and a department of content creation, all of which have to be budgeted for, and executed.
I am inspired to call it quits on my 10 years of non-success and find a way to move from rags to riches.

September 14, 2015Hi Alan,
Your story will help so many others and I am so pleased that you are now moving closer to the success you desire. I call it failing forward that is how the greatest success stories are achieved. Here’s to your success!

But the site that you are leaving on these comments, gloriahyatt.com/blog does not.
After you see this I will remove it because a 404 is not productive for either of us.

September 29, 2015Hi Alan,
I understand the multiple years of no success. I finally came to the realization doing the same things over and over and expecting different results is CRAZY. (I heard that definition of crazy somewhere.) That is when I decided to change and am doing it through Partnership to Success.

October 2, 2015Sorry, Bob, I was offline for a couple of days, and I just noticed your comment. Thank you for commenting.
I wish you (and me) the best of luck in P2S. I am looking forward to the day that I can respond to people, “yea, I was there once, but just follow instructions and you will get there also.”
It seems to me that a lot of it has to do with helping each other also, I hear that from John, but intrinsically also, well, this is not the first time that I came in under a mentor. But there are a few things different in this program, and one of them, not insignificant, is that we are team together helping one another.
I am looking forward to working with you.
All the best. Alan

October 16, 2015I learned a lot from the P2S course and from John and Omar, mostly that it is better to be the person who is doing the marketing than being the person always being ‘marketed to’.
That’s when I unsubscribed from lists that offered no real value and did nothing but sell, sell, sell..lol. That helped me to shift my mindset from a consumer to a business focus.
You’re on the right track and I look forward to following your progress.
Although its been 2 years since I was in the PS2 course, I’m always glad to help in any way I can, Alan, so do let me know if you ever need a hand with anything. ~Jude

October 17, 2015Thank you very much, Jude, for the comment, and for the reaching out to give me a hand, which inspires in me the natural feeling to want to reciprocate when I am in a position to do so. I am indeed looking out to working together with others. But right now I am just trying to keep up and get my own act together.
I visited your site, it looks nice and the content looks well done, deep, and thorough.
I wish you all the luck in the world.

November 28, 2015Alan: you are an inspiration to all of us that are trying but not succeeding. I have only been at it for three years, but I know with John’s mentoring that the fourth year will be different. Ten years is a long time, three years is a long time. However; I feel encouraged by your words Thanks again its great to be on your team.

November 29, 2015Hi Kathy,
Thank you for your visit, for your comment, and for your encouragement. I can actually feel a little bit of the warmth from the light at the end of the tunnel, which I can almost see. I am looking forward to making it, and I wish you all the best in all of your endeavors.
All the best,
Alan

January 29, 2016Hi Alan,
Nice story. I’m with you in that I hate to unsubscribe in that I’m afraid I’ll miss something big. What I realized is that this is a big catch-22, because now I’m focusing on things others are pitching to me, but I’m not focusing on what I need to do to move my business forward.
I can’t be making money if I’m studying how others are training me how to do it. A painful lesson I’ve learned over the years is to quit being the student and start being the teacher/seller.
I think I’m getting there. Good luck.
I’ll keep monitoring your progress.

February 6, 2016Bob,
I am flabbergasted that I missed your comment, I’m very sorry, it wasn’t intentional, and I didn’t mean to snub, nothing of the sort.
Thank you very much for your visit, and for your comments.
What I started doing, besides unsubscribing, is to tell myself, as a reaction to the feeling that this is a great tool, and it is only now that I can get it for a cheap price, etc., etc. I tell myself, “No. There will be another great tool like this tomorrow, it’s not your last chance.” Then tomorrow I tell myself the same thing, :)
Thanks again, Alan

February 3, 2016Alan,
Holy cow. You’re me. I’ve followed the same people you have and have endured this “game” seemingly as long. I think I’ve finally found the program that will be my salvation.
I’m only barely through week 6, but I’m making progress that I haven’t made in many (if any) other programs before.
The good thing is that once I get a real handle on John’s training, I can apply his teachings to all those OTHER courses I’ve purchased.
Life is good, and I’m looking forward to every week. I have to say that this is the first real training that is worth the price tag.
It’s thorough, and it’s good; in fact, I already have designs on my first product. I can’t wait to get to that step of the training. But I’ll be patient. I’ll take it one step at a time.
Keep in touch,
Bob

February 6, 2016Thank YOU, Bob, for staying in touch. It was because of the (email notification of your) second comment that I became aware of the first.
I am currently working on my product creation, It is going slow, but I am in touch with John about it.
Interesting your comment, “I’ve followed the same people you have…” To the best of my knowledge I have never revealed to anyone other than my closest of friends with whom I have mentored, I am not like that. I wonder where I slipped.
I am very busy with life, we just moved homes to a different city, amongst other things.
Keep up the good work, and sustain the strength to be diligent in following week after week. Although I am probably still months before my first launch if things continue at the pace that they are, still I am confident when I say that it will all pay off in the end.
Take care Bob,
Alan

March 4, 2016Hi,
I have been successful on the internet, but over the last years I have fallen into the same rut. Trying to break free.

March 5, 2016Hi Rusty,
Thanks for the visit, and thanks for writing.
I just finished my pdf, what was supposed to take one week or maybe two weeks, took me three months. But it gives me a good feeling that I am getting somewhere, and a feeling of seeing the morning star in the direction of the end of the tunnel. Not yet the proverbial light, but hopefully the end of the night is coming.
Much success with your journey as well!
Alan

May 27, 2016Really enjoyed reading your blog as what you have shared is similar to my story. I call my journey from fear to freedom. Still struggling to move past the fear. The fact that you still spend time growing and learning is very inspirational. Good luck and like Zig Ziglar said “see you at the top!”

May 29, 2016Thanks, Chelito, for your visit and for your comment. I also wish you the best in everything, including much success in reaching “the top”. Since we are not in competition here, I would say that “the top” means the top of where you can get to.
I looked at your site, it’s well done. The only constructive criticism that I can offer, is consider making your header a bit less tall, so that more of the content will be “above the fold.” Your image is 360 px high. I try to keep mine closer to 150 px. It seems to me that you can safely lower the text a little bit, and take a lot off the top and a little off the bottom. But ask someone with a better eye then mine.
All the best,
Alan
